EFL Betting Tips: Away Day Treble in League Two

EFL Betting Tips: Away Day Treble in League Two

The EFL is back on Friday night after yet another International Break and Gaz shares his best bets across The Championship, League One and League Two. Lately, Gaz’s focus has been on League Two and he is reaping the rewards. His PnL is +15U for the season, and that doesn’t even account for a controversial 6U swing from a misprint last time out.

Bradford City v Accrington Stanley

Sat 25 Nov 15:00

Bradford sacked manager Mark Hughes at the start of October and looked to have turned a corner picking up back-to-back league wins. They’ve reverted to their old selves since then though failing to win any of their last five (W0, D1, L4) and are now very much in a relegation scrap.

Accrington are the visitors on Saturday and come into this buoyed by a brilliant 2-0 win over Wrexham last weekend. Stanley’s decision to increase ticket prices for the visit of League Two’s glamour side irked the Wrexham ownership and made the tie a more compelling spectacle. That win ended a two-game losing spell and gets the Stanley promotion push back on track. Prior to those back-to-back losses, Accrington had won five on-the-spin and I think they’re underrated by the bookmakers. An away win looks the play here at juicy odds of 9/4.

Tranmere Rovers v Gillingham

Sat 25 Nov 15:00

This is another game where I think it makes sense to side with the away team. Tranmere are currently 22nd, just one spot outside the relegation zone and have lost four of their last six league games (W1, D1, L4). Their home form has been pretty good (W4, D1, L4) in relative terms but even at that, I think it’s worth taking them on here.

Gillingham have had a tricky spell losing three of their last six (W3, D0, L3), however, they still sit eight in the table and are very much in with a shout of a playoff spot. The Gills picked up a good 3-1 win over Salford last time out and at 29/20 look a good bet.

AFC Wimbledon v Notts County

Sat 25 Nov 15:00

AFC Wimbledon have won their last three home matches and on the face of it look a team on the up. Two of those wins were cup ties though and I’m always wary of trusting the bare form of those matches. When you focus on the league the picture doesn’t look half as good. A 2-0 victory over a struggling Doncaster side is their only win in six (W1, D2, L3) and with that in mind I’m struggling to see why they’re favourites here.

Notts County are one of the division’s top sides and I think they’re a massive price to take all three points in this one. County have lost three of their last six (W3, D0, L3) but those defeats have come against fellow title challengers so can be forgiven slightly. They picked up a confidence-boosting 4-2 win last time out against Bradford and at 21/10 I’m backing them to get things back on track.
