EFL Tips: 51/1 League One and League Two Treble

EFL Tips: 51/1 League One and League Two Treble

Gaz has picked three long-priced away teams across the EFL in this week’s treble to get the juices flowing.

Cheltenham v Port Vale

Sat 17 Feb 15:00

This game is a real relegation six-pointer and should be an intriguing clash. After a bright start to the season Port Vale somehow find themselves in a dog fight to secure their League One status. They come into this without a win in 2024 (W0, D2, L4) a run that has seen them slide down the table. This week they face a Cheltenham side buoyed by back-to-back wins and a loss would paint a bleak picture.

Despite the contrasting recent fortunes I’m not sure there should be such a disparity in prices between these two. On their day Vale are capable of mixing it with the best in this division and last week’s 90th minute equaliser showed that the players still have fire in their bellies. While Cheltenham played on Tuesday, Vale have had a full week to prepare for this and that could be the difference maker. The 11/4 on offer for a Vale win is enough to tempt me, although admittedly this is a gut call.

Colchester v Accrington

Sat 17 Feb 15:00

Over in League Two Colchester are another side with relegation worries and in need of wins fast. The U’s have improved markedly in recent weeks picking up six points from a possible eighteen since the turn of the year (W1, D3, L0). However, even with that mini purple patch, it’s hard to have any confidence in a side that has lost eighth of their last thirteen games.

Accrington are a pretty consistent outfit and were impressive in mid-week when beating promotion-chasing AFC Wimbledon by two goals to nil. This is much calmer waters for Stanley and if they can replicate anywhere near that performance they should take this comfortably. At 9/5 an away victory looks a solid bet.

AFC Wimbledon v Morecambe

Sat 17 Feb 15:00

Only goals separate these sides in the League Two table. As mentioned above, AFC Wimbledon were beaten on Tuesday night and things don’t get any easier this weekend. Morecambe come into this game on the back of three straight wins. The Shrimps have only lost two of their last nine in the league (W4, D3, L2) and will fancy their chances here. Wimbledon do have good home form (W7, D3, L4) and that tapers my excitement slightly, but at 4/1 a Morecambe win is too good to ignore.

EFL Betting Tips

Cheltenham v Port Vale – Port Vale Win @ 11/4 (1 point)

Colchester v Accrington – Accrington Win @ 9/5 (2 points)

AFC Wimbledon v Morecambe – Morecambe Win @ 4/1 (1 point)

Above in a treble @ 51/1 (1 point)
