Gaz had an excellent week prior to the international break and he is back again with four selections that will no doubt keep his profitable streak of EFL betting tips going
Blackburn v Millwall
Sat 1st Oct 15:00
Blackburn have been Jekyll and Hyde so far this season and have failed to find any real consistency. When they’re good they’re very good but when they’re bad things go South quickly. With that in mind it’s no surprise that Rovers are yet to share the spoils in a Championship game this term (W5, D0, L5). Despite their topsy turvy start Jon Dahl Tomasson’s men are hovering around the playoff places, and they certainly have the squad to kick on and potentially challenge for the title.
Millwall come to town on Saturday, and this looks like the ideal opportunity for Rovers to start afresh after the international break. The Lions have yet to win away from home, losing 3 of those 4 games and conceding an average of 2 per game. Blackburn’s strength is in their attack and at 5/4 they look a great bet in this one.
Leyton Orient v Newport County
Sat 1st Oct 15:00
Leyton Orient are flying high at the top of League 2 and show no signs of slowing down. Orient have yet to lose in the league and have taken a mightily impressive 28 points from a possible 30. Their points haul is one thing, but another is how they have gone about it. They have netted a number of “Worldies” at Brisbane Road. With 18 goals scored (avg 1.8 GPG) and just 4 conceded (avg 0.22 GPG) it doesn’t take a genius to figure out why I’m backing them here. The fact that the visitors, Newport, haven’t won in their last 4 league games (W0, D1, L3) is an added bonus.
Cambridge United v Derby
Sat 1st Oct 15:00
If you’ve been reading this column week-to-week, you’ll know I’ve been waiting for Derby to come to the boil for the majority of the season. That hasn’t really come to fruition as of yet with the Rams still struggling to make their domination of possession count when it matters. A change at the top (while probably harsh on Liam Rosenior) could be the trigger for the long-awaited improvement and the price of 23/20 is enough to have me come back to the well one last time. Cambridge are no mugs and have lost just once at home this season but with Derby’s squad and Paul Warne’s track record the Rams should land the odds.
Salford v Grimsby
Sat 1st Oct 15:00
Grimsby come into this game with one of those strange records having not picked up a win at home this term but amassing 12 points from a possible 15 on the road. That record makes betting against The Mariners a dodgy proposition but it’s something I’m going to do anyway. Salford come into this game off the back of an impressive win over Sutton and I fancy them the kick on here. Home form has been a staple for the Reds and on paper they should have too much firepower for their guests. At 11/10 they round out this week’s acca.
