Savage our Spanish Supremo has three La Liga betting tips for matchday 10 that involve all of the top three sides
There are a lot of subplots in this season’s La Liga. New boy Jude Bellingham is breaking all sorts of records for Real Madrid. Girona have taken most pundits by surprise with seven wins from nine and are sitting pretty in second place. Even league newcomers Las Palmas are in the top half of the table despite a squad worth less than the transfer fee for the error-prone André Onana.

Sevilla will be hoping for a new manager bounce when they return from the international break. José Luis Mendilibar was shown the door after just 2 wins in their opening 11 matches in all competitions (W2 D4 L5). The new man at the helm, Diego Alonso, will need to coax something special out of this group of players to overturn their visitors.
Los Blancos have won 8 of the previous 9 meetings between the two sides and clearly are the form team heading into this one. Bellingham may be stealing the headlines for club and country but Madrid’s only bona fide striker, Joselu, has more than held his own. 5 goals and 2 assists for the veteran forward is not be sniffed at. He could look to add to that tally against a home side leaking goals, including 7 in 5 home matches in the league
Girona v Almería Prediction

Things are looking increasingly ominous for Almería who remain the only side yet to register a win in the top flight (D3 L6). By contrast the home sides fortunes could scarcely improve given the fact they currently sit just two points off top spot. They will no doubt enjoy the fact that they can also currently claim to be the best side in Catalonia. Girona’s excellent start has been aided by a very comfortable run of fixtures. Their 7 wins have been against teams in the bottom half of the table. It is not surprising that their only dropped points came against their strongest opposition in Madrid and Sociedad. However, with the visitors firmly ensconced in last place this should be another opportunity for Los Blanquivermells to dispatch with lower opposition.
Barcelona v Athletic Bilbao Prediction

Despite Barcelona remaining unbeaten they still themselves three points off top spot. They have had to rely on some very late goals to maintain this start with 8 of their league goals coming after the 80th minute.
Los Leones have had a decent start to the campaign with 5 wins so far (W5 D2 L2). However, a concern for Ernesto Valverde will be the heavy defeats to Madrid and Sociedad which may provide a yard stick heading into this one. The positive note for the visitors is a sizable injury list for Barca. Ferran Torres may well be handed the centre forward role for this one in the absence of Lewandowski. The Spaniard has 3 goals to his name so far but is certainly not the same target man for his side. Xavi’s side will likely not have it all their own way against what could be a stubborn opposition.
