La Liga Predictions: Madrid to Send Kroos Off in Style

Savage gives us his thoughts on the pick of the matches in Spain’s Primera División as Madrid say farewell to a club legend

Girona v Granada

Fri 24 May 20:00

The hosts still have a slim chance of capping off their incredible season with a second placed finish. Their home form has been pivotal in securing a lucrative Champions League spot for next season. At the Estadio Municipal de Montilivi they have lost just twice all season (W14 D2 L2). They also scored the second most goals at home (46) which was only bettered by the Champions at the Bernabéu. Their most valuable player throughout has been Artem Dovbyk who very nearly scooped the Pinchichi trophy with his 21 goals. The visitors knew they were destined for the drop a number of weeks ago. Just 2 wins in their last 18 games can only ever spell bad news (W2 D4 L12). Unfortunately for the away side it looks like their run of four losses in a row looks set to increase.

Real Madrid v Real Betis

Madrid will be able to pay a fitting tribute to one of the greatest midfielders to ever grace La Liga. Toni Kroos still has the chance to add one more significant piece of silverware to the 21 he has already notched up over the last decade. Los Blancos clearly took their eye off the ball against Villarreal last weekend. Having been 1-4 up just after the break, the finished level thanks to Alexander Sorloth notching 4 goals by himself. The visitors secured their European ticket for next season albeit not in the competition they might have wanted. No points in 4 in the month of March put paid to any further push towards the top places. Another pre-match guard of honor will await the hosts but this should be little more than a training match. Betis should already have one eye on the beach.

Smart Bets:

Girona v Granada – Girona and Under 3.5 Goals @ 8/5

Real Madrid v Real Betis – Real Madrid and Under 3.5 goals @ 6/4

Double @ 6/1
