Dermo has a three Ligue 1 selections this week that amount to an 8/1 Sunday treble
Ligue 1 returns after the international break with a Les Blues side featuring very few players from the league. Marseille have the chance to close the gap with PSG to 4pts when they host Montpellier on a Friday. The Parisians have a potentially tricky tie in the Parc des Princes to close out the game week as Lyon come to town. Christophe Galtier’s side are threadbare at the back and OL are still have the potential to turn it on again. It just all depends on their mood.
Angers Vs Nice
Sun 2nd 14:00 GMT
This preview will be short and to the point. Angers are an extremely poor side and Nice have been very good since Didier Digard took over. I might back this in my own bets as Nice -1 but it’s tough to recommend away wins in handicaps. Away win.
Monaco Vs Strasbourg
Sun 2nd 16:05 GMT
Monaco sit fourth after losing 3 homes games on the spin in all competitions. Similar to the last two seasons Ben Yedder has hit form after being on the bench earlier in the campaign even though he had no fitness concerns. He’s only 2 goals behind Mbappé (PSG) and David (Lille) at the top of Ligue 1 scoring charts and this should be a good spot to increase his tally. Strasbourg have only managed two wins on the road all season and are in the bottom 8 for goals conceded whilst on the road. I expected him to be odds on in this scenario so odds against for a Ben Yedder any time goal is more than fair at 11/10.
PSG Vs Lyon
Sun 2nd 19:45 GMT
It’s not that long ago that this would have been a blockbuster game. Unfortunately, Lyon appear to have entered a state of perpetual mediocrity. Whereas before the youth academy produced talents to play alongside quality veterans, the old players appear more of mercenary nature and seem to lack desire. When on song though, OL still have one of the best pools of attacking options in Ligue 1.
PSG have been at their most effective this season when playing 3 at the back and 2 upfront. The current issue with this system is they simply haven’t enough defenders. In last week’s loss to Rennes their back 3 was left wing back Juan Bernat, defensive midfield convert Danilo Pereira and youngster El Chadaille Bitshiabu. It looks like Galtier will have to use the same personnel this week. The main positive though is with Mbappé and Messi as your front pairing you always have a chance. Even though previous meetings have been tight, the porousness of both defences should make for an open game. PSG to just about win and of course both teams to score.
Nice to Win @ 4/6 (1 pt win)
Wissam Ben Yedder to score @ 11/10 (3 pt win)
PSG to Win & BTTS @ 9/5 (1pt win)
Above in treble (best priced): 8/1 (1pt win)
