Ligue 1 Tips: Brest can’t afford Toulouse in Finale

Ligue 1 Tips: Brest can’t afford Toulouse in Finale

It’s an 17/1 treble for Dermot to conclude the Ligue 1 season

It’s game week 34 of the Ligue 1 season. After switching from 20 teams to 18 teams last season, it’s the final week of the season. There are just 4 of the 9 matches that aren’t dead rubbers. Brest travel to Toulouse and Lille host Nice to decide the remaining Champions League spot. Lens and Lyon have home games against Montpellier and Strasbourg to decide the last Europa Conference League entrant for 2024/25. Brest have really shot themselves in the foot having drawn at home to Nantes and Reims. They are now hoping a Nice team, with nothing to play for, to prevent Lille from winning. That said, they may potentially be able to overhaul Lille by beating Toulouse by 3 or 4 goals.

At the other end of the table Le Havre host Marseille having an 11 goal difference swing over Metz who host PSG. Essentially Metz have been relegated already unless Luis Enrique is a closet Les Grenats fan and fields a youth team.

Lille Vs Nice Prediction

This one was a fairly simple pick. Lille need to win, Nice have nothing to play for. When Lille score it’s usually Jonathan David (14 in 16 Ligue 1 games since start of 2024)

Jonathan David to score anytime @ 6/5

Lens Vs Montpellier Prediction

Only Kylian Mbappé and Karim Benzema have scored more goals at in Ligue 1 at 21 than Elye Wahi. The young striker has been in decent form as of late with 6 goals in his last 11 games. In total he only has 8 goals this season. He has 1 more in card than that. In fact, he has 16 yellow cards over the past two seasons alone. This seems the ideal spot to add to that tally as Lens welcome his old side Montpellier.

Elye Wahi to be shown a card @ 3/1

Lyon Vs Strasbourg Prediction

Sun May 19th 20:00

One of the few games with something on the line this weekend. Lyon’s miraculous recovery could cumulate in a Europe Conference League spot next season. This is a side that spent 16 of the 34 weeks in the relegation zone with 9 of those bottom of Ligue 1. OL are averaging 2.66 goals per game over the past 6 games (16 goals). Strasbourg have been in no mans land for a few weeks in terms of relegation, I’d be highly surprised if they offer much resistence against a team playing infront of a boisterous home crowd.

Lyon to win -1 @ 21/20
