Premier League Tips: 11/1 Away Double In Saturday 3PM Kickoffs

LB has picked two away sides to upset the odds on Saturday with Wolves and Villa both making the trip to the capital.

Tottenham v Wolves

Sat 17 Feb 15:00

Wolves are a massive 9/2 here and that price looks high. Tottenham are rightly favourites, but for the visitors to be outside 4/1 is just wrong. Gary O’Neil’s side won the reverse fixture earlier in the season when Spurs were purring and Wolves were struggling. In my eyes, the visitors have improved since then and Tottenham have plateaued somewhat, at least compared to their early season standard.

Although Tottenham have steadied the ship (again), their record against teams in the top half of the table is middling (W4 D3 L5). When you consider some of the “luck” involved in that record, typified by the win over Liverpool, it is important to take Spurs’ league position with a pinch of salt.

Wolves have struggled with injuries lately, particularly up front, and are yet to play their preferred forward line of Neto, Hwang and Cunha together this season. Cunha pulled his hamstring last week so fans will have to wait until next term to see that dream front three. However, a fit Neto and Hwang partnership is one of the more lethal in the league and I fancy them to make hay on Sunday.

This bet is based on the expectation that the Korean Guy” Hwang Hee-chan, starts for Wolves. He was deemed unfit to play last week after his return from the Asian Cup although there is no news of significant injury. He was in fantastic form before being called up to international duty and could make the difference along side Pedro Neto.

Fulham v Aston Villa

Sat 17 Feb 15:00

Aston Villa fans were on cloud nine in December after back-to-back wins over City and Arsenal. However, right after that, their form went off a cliff. They have two league wins since Christmas, over Burnley and Sheffield United, and have gone from title race outsiders to outside the Top 4. They have been dumped out of the FA Cup, and worst of all, have suffered the ignominy of two losses to Manchester United in that time too.

So it might seem foolish to back a team in such poor form but I quite fancy Villa here. Emery is experienced enough to get his side back on track and Fulham are not exactly the toughest outfit to face (W1 D3 L3) at the minute. Villa to win and BTTS is very tempting at 3/1 but I’ll keep it simple. The last five times Fulham have dropped points (draws or losses) they failed to score a single goal. Four of Villa’s last wins involved clean sheets too. Aston Villa to win at 7/5 is my second and final bet of the weekend.

Premier League Smart Bets

Tottenham v Wolves – Wolves To Win @ 9/2

Fulham v Aston Villa – Villa To Win @ 7/5

The above in a double at a little over 11/1
