Premier League Tips: Can Cole Clip Bees’ Wings In This 10/1 Double

Premier League Tips: Can Cole Clip Bees’ Wings In This 10/1 Double

This weekend looks very tough to call in terms of Premier League betting so LB is taking a shot on these two SOT bets.

Brentford v Chelsea

If you are a believer in bouncebackability then Chelsea might seem a reasonable even money bet this weekend. However, I’m not so sure that they are any value here. There is clearly something wrong with Chelsea at the minute. They are incapable of finishing chances and I do not think a late win over Championship side Leeds is enough for me to change my mind. If they were able to score they could have beaten Man City and overcome Liverpool in the Carabao Cup Final.

That being said, Brentford do not tempt me at all at a meager 21/10. They have lost four of their last five games and have just three wins in seventeen. The “moneyball” Bees are just five points above “doomed” Luton Town and Thomas Frank could be in trouble soon. A win here would be a massive boost for either side but the draw seems the most likely outcome.

Personally, I do not like backing draws so I will take a punt in the shots on target market. Brentford allow an alarming amount of shots on goal. In just their last five games their opponents have managed 99 shots (with 44 on target). If there is any bright spark for Chelsea at the minute it’s Cole Palmer and the young Englishman has hit some decent shooting form in 2024. He managed four SOT against Liverpool and was rested midweek in the FA Cup. He is a tight looking 2/5 for 1+SOT but the real value is in 2+SOT at 2/1. Brentford are very open and this looks too good to pass on.

Newcastle v Wolves

This is another game where my gut goes against the classic “bounce back” trope. Newcastle are a shadow of the side that dominated the tail of last season and the humbling loss to Arsenal was one of the worst performances since Eddie Howe took over. They couldn’t navigate past Championship-strugglers Blackburn Rovers over two hours of play and eventually needed penalties to progress. The Magpies have conceded a whopping 23 goals in their eight Premier League games since Christmas and will have a tough time containing this revitalized Wolves side (W4 D0 L1).

I fancy an away win here at 13/5 but I’ve lost bets on Wolves here one too many times this season. So instead, I will delve into the shots on target market once again. I’m could make a case for any of Wolves three forwards, Neto, Sarabia or Hee-Chan, but I will play it safe with Pedro Neto. The Portuguese was rested midweek and his pace could be key at St James Park. Once again a single SOT is heavily odds on and the real value looks to be for 2+SOT.

Premier League Shots On Target Tips

Brentford v Chelsea – Cole Palmer 2+ SOT @ 2/1

Newcastle v Wolves – Pedro Neto 2+ SOT @ 11/4

The above in a double is a little over 10/1 (1U)
