Premier League Tips: Goals In Selhurst For Oliver Glasner’s First Game

Premier League Tips: Goals In Selhurst For Oliver Glasner’s First Game

LB picked up 17U last weekend and is hoping to consolidate with just the one selection from The Premier League this weekend.

Crystal Palace v Burnley

This started out as a gut feeling bet, but the more I looked the better it became. These are two teams that must throw caution to the wind. Burnley are seven points adrift of safety and draws simply won’t cut it for Vincent Kompany’s struggling side. They need wins, and they need them soon.

Crystal Palace made the surprise hiring of Oliver Glasner after the unsurprising departure of the unwell Roy Hodgson. His defensive record at Eintracht Frankfurt was uninspiring and he does not look like a Sean Dyche steady-the-ship type of hire.

With both teams likely to “go for it”, BTTS looks a steal at even money. This has landed in five of each team’s last six outings. Coincidentally, the only time this hasn’t landed since Christmas for either Palace or Burnely was when they were each on the wrong end of a 5-0 shellacking from Arsenal.

Wolves v Sheffield United

Sticking with the theme of shellackings, I think Sheffield United will be on the wrong end of one come Sunday. In fact, I am so confident of that, I will be breaking one of my own cardinal rules here. I always tend to avoid betting against teams on the back of humiliating losses, such as the 5-0 drubbing The Blades took from Brighton last weekend. In fact, twice already this season Sheffield United have won a game directly after losing 5-0, and one of those was a win over Wolves back in November. However, this is a different-looking Wolves now, and I think they will be too much for a crestfallen United. There is only so much a team can take, and a goal difference of -43 says a lot about Chris Wilder’s side.

Premier League Smart Bets:

Crystal Palace v Burnley – BTTS @ Evens

Wolves v Sheffield United – Wolves To Win & O2.5 Goals @ 11/10

The above in a double is a little over 3/1.
