Serie A Predictions: Back A Cagey Start In Tuscany

Serie A Predictions: Back A Cagey Start In Tuscany

It’s the last day of the Italian football calendar and following an up to now profitable season, Enzo gives us his final set of Serie A betting predictions for 2023/24

The final day is always a tricky time for betting, form goes out the window and strange prices and dead rubbers abound. Atalanta’s Europa League victory, Fiorentina contesting the Conference League next Wednesday and the play-off system to determine who is relegated further complicate the possible permutations. Due to all these factors, it was a real struggle to find value this weekend so I have just picked two Serie A betting predictions based on circumstance rather than stats for the final day of the Italian football season.

Atalanta v Torino Prediction

Sun 26th May 17:00

Atalanta have booked their place in next seasons Champions league by virtue of their stunning Europa League triumph over the hitherto undefeated Bayer Leverkusen. Undoubtedly, there will be a lot of sore heads in Bergamo and it’s hard to imagine that the team will be very motivated for Sundays clash.

Torino have enjoyed a solid if unspectacular season and currently sit in 9th place. Ordinarily, 9th signifies mid-table anonymity but because of the success of Italy’s representatives in Europe, Toro still have a chance at continental football. In order to qualify for the Conference League, Torino need to hold on to 9th and hope Fiorentina win the Conference League and don’t overtake Lazio in 7th. With Napoli just a point behind and facing Lecce at the Maradona, a Torino Win @ 21/20 is a must to keep the dream alive.

Empoli v Roma Prediction

Sun 26th May 19:45

My second and final Serie A betting prediction is a Halftime Draw @ 11/8 in Empoli v Roma. The Giallorossi’s fate is out of their hands and they must wait for Atalanta to play their final two games to determine if they qualify for the Champions League. If La Dea finish no higher than 5th, then Roma will be eligible to play in Europe’s premier competition.

For Empoli a win is a must if they are to survive for another season in the top flight. However, depending on what happens between Udinese v Frosinone, a draw could be enough to force a playoff. Either way I can’t see Empoli, who are not renowned for their goal scoring exploits, risking too much early on. Instead, I think they will focus on not conceding in the first half with an eye on the game in Udine then if needs be, throw caution to the wind later on.

Serie A Betting Predictions

Atalanta v Torino: Torino Win @ 21/20

Empoli v Roma: Halftime Draw @ 11/8

The self-proclaimed Italian Stallion. Our boots on the ground so to speak. TheACCAdemic’s Serie A Supremo. His time as a Roma fan has led him to the “hard to support” end of betting and he is no stranger to tipping an unders bet or a draw. Don’t let that put you off. Week in week out Enzo finds value in Italy by avoiding the big names and ploughing his own furrow. To this day he remains the only man in Ireland to own a jersey with Philippe Mexès on the back.
