Serie A Predictions: Back Milan’s Struggles To Continue

Serie A Predictions: Back Milan’s Struggles To Continue

Enzo has three Italian football bets for us this week including a prediction for the clash of Silvio Berlusconi’s two former clubs

Lecce v Frosinone

Sat 16th Dec 14:00

Before a ball had even been kicked, Frosinone were given the tag of relegation favourites. However, The Canarini have defied expectations and are playing some good attacking football under Zeman devotee, Eusebio Di Francesco’s guidance. A key factor behind their success is Juventus loanee Matias Soule. The young Argentine attacker has chipped in with 6 goals and an assist so far this season and will doubtless be returning to his parent club once it’s done. On Saturday he will face a leaky Lecce side who have conceded at least one goal in all their games at the Via del Mare. The trip South is the perfect opportunity for the youngster to further add to his tally so Matias Soule anytime scorer @ 3/1 is my first Serie A betting prediction of the weekend.

Napoli v Cagliari

Sat 16th Dec 17:00

This is a clash of two sides with very contrasting fortunes. Cagliari pulled off another stunning comeback last weekend when they scored in the 94th and 99th minute to beat Sassuolo 2-1. The Sardinians have now picked up three wins and a draw in their last six after having opened the campaign with 2 points from a possible 24.

Napoli on the other hand slumped to their second defeat in the space of three matches under new manager Walter Mazzarri. As a result, the Partenopei slipped out of the top 5 and face an uphill struggle to finish in the Champions League places.

These two do have something in common though and that is goals. Napoli have only managed to keep one cleansheet in their previous seven games and that was against bottom-of-the-table Salernitana. 71% of their matches at the Maradona have seen three or more goals scored. Cagliari have only failed to find the net once in their eight most recent outings and 57% of their away games have gone over the 2.5 mark. Because of this, BTTS + Over 2.5 goals @ 5/4 looks like a good value bet.

AC Milan v Monza

Sun 17th Dec 11:30

A hard-fought win over Newcastle on Wednesday night was not enough to keep Milan in the Champions League or ease the pressure on Stefano Pioli. The Rossoneri’s season is rapidly unraveling and without a quick turnaround in fortunes, the quest for another league title will evaporate. Domestically they have dipped (W2 D2 L3) leaving them nine points adrift of Inter at the top and seven off Juventus in second.

Monza currently sit in 9th and are on track for another solid top 10 finish. The Brianzoli are a difficult team to beat and have only been bested four times this season. Their current form reads (W2 D3 L1) with the single defeat coming at the hands of Juventus. Keeping that in mind Double Chance Draw/Monza @ 6/4 is my final Serie A betting prediction for the weekend.

Serie A Predictions

Lecce v Frosinone: Matias Soule anytime scorer @ 3/1

Napoli vs Cagliari: BTTS + Over 2.5 goals @ 5/4

AC Milan v Monza: Double Chance Draw/Monza @ 6/4
