Serie A Tips: Back Cremonese To Throw Caution To The Wind

Serie A Tips: Back Cremonese To Throw Caution To The Wind

Enzo has four Italian football selections this weekend including a 9/1 pick for the clash of Milan and Salernitana

Napoli v Atalanta

Sat 11th Mar 17:00

Napoli suffered their first home loss of the season on Friday evening when they succumbed to a late Matias Vecino rocket. The 1-0 defeat was only the third time this season where Napoli drew a blank and it also saw Victor Osimhen’s eight game scoring streak come to an end. The Nigerian leads the Capocannoiere race with 19 goals, 5 more than his nearest rival Lautaro Martinez. Since October, the Napoli frontman has not gone more than one game without scoring so taking that into account Victor Osimhen Anytime scorer @ 7/5 is my first Serie A bet for the weekend.

Cremonese v Fiorentina

Sun 12th Mar 14:00

Cremonese picked up their first and only three points of the campaign on Matchday 24 when they pulled off an unlikely victory over Mourinho’s Roma. This lifted the Grigiorossi off the foot of the table but they still face a titanic struggle for Serie A survival. The gravity of the situation they find themselves in seems to have spurred the side into action and they have ditched the cautious mentality in favour of an all or nothing approach. A rather unlucky 3-2 defeat to Sassuolo followed their maiden win but Cremonese’s newfound impetus definitely has the potential to cause trouble for the league’s defences. Over 2.5 goals and BTTS @ 7/5 has been a winning selection in all of Cremonese’s last three matches and I’m sticking with it again this week.

Juventus v Sampdoria

Sun 12th Mar 19:45

Ignoring the five that Napoli put past them, Juventus have been rock solid at the back. They rank as Serie A’s third best defence with just 20 goals conceded so far. An interesting stat is that all bar one of the Bianconeri’s 15 victories have come without their opponents finding the net. On Sunday, Juve welcome the team with the leagues worst scoring record to Turin. Bottom of the table Sampdoria average just 0.44 goals scored per game and look thoroughly devoid of any threat or hope of staying in the top flight. Another routine Juventus win to nil @ 20/21 is the only option here.

AC Milan v Salernitana

Mon 13th Mar 19:45

My final Serie A pick is more of a punt than a recommendation. Last weekend I tipped Antonio Candreva to get on the scoresheet and, even though it didn’t happen, the case I made still stands. I’m sticking with the veteran again to be on target against a Milan side who will no doubt be a little the worse for wear after their midweek Champions League exploits. Antonio Candreva anytime scorer @ 9/1 is my final Italian football bet of the week.

Smart Bets

Napoli v Atalanta: Victor Osimhen Anytime scorer @ 7/5

Cremonese v Fiorentina: Over 2.5 goals and BTTS @ 7/5

Juventus v Sampdoria: Juventus win to nil @ 20/21

AC Milan v Salernitana: Antonio Candreva Anytime scorer @ 9/1

The self-proclaimed Italian Stallion. Our boots on the ground so to speak. TheACCAdemic’s Serie A Supremo. His time as a Roma fan has led him to the “hard to support” end of betting and he is no stranger to tipping an unders bet or a draw. Don’t let that put you off. Week in week out Enzo finds value in Italy by avoiding the big names and ploughing his own furrow. To this day he remains the only man in Ireland to own a jersey with Philippe Mexès on the back.
