Serie A Tips: Back Lecce To Condemn Samp

Serie A Tips: Back Lecce To Condemn Samp

After the excitement of the Champions League it’s back to business as usual and Enzo has three Italian football betting predictions for this weekends Serie A action

Inter Milan v Monza

Sat 15th Apr 19:45

An excellent win over Benfica in Tuesday nights Champions League clash cannot hide the fact that, domestically, Inter are officially in crisis mode. One win in six (W1 D1 L4) means that the Nerazzurri have dropped down to fifth place. The crux of the problem is a misfiring forward line. Romelu Lukaku’s troubles have been well publicised while the goals that came so easily during the earlier part of the season have all but dried up for his partner Lautaro. In total, Inter have only found the net four times in their last six.

Monza have achieved what they set out to do at the beginning of the campaign. Safe in mid table with 35 points, their Serie A status is assured for next year. The wins have not been as forthcoming as they were but Palladino’s side have only lost on three occasions during their previous 15 matches (W6 D7 L3).

Inter’s european triumph will no doubt have given the team a huge confidence boost but I’m not sure that it will magic away all their troubles.  On the road, Monza have only lost once recently (W3 D3 L1) and the reverse fixture ended 2-2 prompting wild celebrations in the stands. Given their record and Berlusconi and Galliani’s history with Inter’s city rivals Milan, I fancy Monza to get something from this one. Double Chance Draw/Monza @ 15/8 is well worth a shot.

Lecce v Sampdoria Prediction

Sun 16th Apr 11:30

Sampdoria were dealt a crushing blow at the weekend when they lost to fellow relegation rivals Cremonese. The Blucerchiati conceded twice in the last 5 mins of the game and eventually lost 3-2 leaving them bottom of the table and 11 points from safety.

On Sunday Samp face a Lecce side who are also not safe. They currently sit in 16th, 5 points above Verona who occupy the last relegation spot. Despite losing their last six matches, Lecce have not been heavily beaten by anyone and they put up a brave fight against champions elect Napoli in their last outing. At the Via del Mare they have decent record and have already taken points from Atalanta, Lazio, Milan and Roma.

After Saturday’s defeat, Sampdoria must have all but given up hope and I fancy a dogged Lecce to put the final nail in their coffin. Lecce win @ Evs is my first Italian football tip for the weekend.

Sassuolo v Juventus

Sun 16th Apr 17:00

My final Serie A prediction is an old reliable that has served me well this season. Juventus win to nil @ 12/5 has been a winning selection sixteen times during the 2022/23 campaign and I don’t see any reason to not back it again this weekend. Sassuolo are nothing like the team they were since Raspadori and Scamacca left. Granted, the Neroverdi are experiencing an uptick in form but they only average 1.28 goals scored per game and I cant see them causing the Juve backline too much trouble.

Smart Bets

Inter Milan v Monza: Double Chance Draw/Monza @ 15/8

Lecce v Sampdoria: Lecce win @ Evs

Sassuolo v Juventus: Juventus win to nil @ 12/5
