Serie A Tips: Fine Margins To Decide The Derby d’Italia

The Derby d’Italia will take centre stage this weekend in Serie A and Enzo has two bets for the big match

Torino v Napoli

Sun 19th Mar 14:00

Last weekend I fancied the man who leads the capocannoniere race, Victor Osimhen to get on the scoresheet against Atalanta. Since October the Nigerian striker hadn’t gone more than a single league game without finding the net so I was fairly confident after he drew a blank against Lazio the previous weekend. Unfortunately, the goal never materialised but I cannot see him making it three scoreless weeks on the trot, especially after his fantastic brace against Frankfurt on Wednesday night. Victor Osimhen anytime goalscorer @ 7/4 will be my first Serie A bet of the weekend.

Inter Milan v Juventus

Sun 19th Mar 19:45

The Derby d’Italia is always a hotly contested affair and this edition should be no different. Inter and Juventus come into the clash with almost identical form. The Nerazzuri have ( W4 D1 L3) while Juve’s record is slightly better having (W5 D2 L1). Both sides successfully navigated their respective midweek European engagements and, were it nor for The Old Lady’s -15 point penalty, only three points would separate them in the table.

In games like this which are basically a coin toss I always favour backing the bigger priced side so to see Juventus win @ 3/1 is a nice surprise. Inter are not invincible at the San Siro and have already lost twice. They are also struggling in front of goal lately and have huffed and puffed against some of the leagues minnows. Meanwhile, Allegri’s team are not setting the world on fire but even so they have only lost once on the road and their resolute defending could prove a challenge for the Nerazzuri’s misfiring attack. I will also have a speculative punt on a Juventus 1-0 win @ 10/1.

Smart Bets

Torino v Napoli: Victor Osimhen anytime goalscorer @ 7/4

Inter Milan v Juventus: Juventus win @ 3/1

Inter Milan v Juventus: Juventus 1-0 win @ 10/1

The self-proclaimed Italian Stallion. Our boots on the ground so to speak. TheACCAdemic’s Serie A Supremo. His time as a Roma fan has led him to the “hard to support” end of betting and he is no stranger to tipping an unders bet or a draw. Don’t let that put you off. Week in week out Enzo finds value in Italy by avoiding the big names and ploughing his own furrow. To this day he remains the only man in Ireland to own a jersey with Philippe Mexès on the back.
