Matchday 6 saw the end of Enzo’s profitable streak, but he is back with three more selections for this weekend’s Serie A action and is feeling confident
Spezia v Sampdoria
Sat 17th Sep 17:00
Spezia kicked off the season with a win over Empoli but so far it has been their only victory (W0 D2 L3). However, the side from Liguria are unbeaten at home after notching up two draws with Bologna and Sassuolo after the opening day.
Sampdoria have yet to collect three points (W0 D2 L4) but they have faced some tough opponents in the form of Lazio, Juventus, Atalanta and Milan. Goals have been a problem for the Blucerchiati and they have only scored three times in six games but these have all come during the last three matches which shows some improvement in the attacking department.
There is very little to separate both sides who will most likely be in for a nervy ending to the season. The managers know this and neither will want to concede too much ground to a fellow struggler early on. I predict a cagey affair that will ultimately end in a stalemate. The Draw @ 9/4 is my first Serie A bet of the weekend.
Udinese v Inter Milan
Sun 18th Sep 11:30
Udinese and Inter are tied second for most goals scored with 12 apiece. Udinese have been particularly potent of late registering eight in their last three. Inter have notched up six in the same number of games. In terms of the standings, Udinese sit in 4th with 13 points following a four-match winning streak while Inter are a point worse off in 6th.
This is another tough game to call especially when you factor in Inters packed fixture list and Udinese’s red-hot form. I do fancy the Nerazzurri to edge it but, at odds on, the price doesn’t justify the risk. Instead, I’m banking on the goals continuing to flow and backing BTTS + Over 2.5 goals @ 20/21.
Roma v Atalanta
Sun 18th Sep 17:00
My final Italian football bet of the weekend is for there to be under 2.5 goals @ Evs in the clash at the Olimpico. 50%, which equates to one, of Roma’s home games has gone over 2.5 and that was the 3-0 hammering of Monza. Atalanta have played three away from the Gewiss Stadium and none have topped the mark. This should be another tight encounter where chances are at a premium so I’m happy to take the Evs on offer. I will also have a little foray into the correct score market and put a small stake on a 1-1 draw at 6/1.
