Serie A Tips: Lecce To Liquidate Damp Samp

Serie A Tips: Lecce To Liquidate Damp Samp

It’s the final round of Serie A fixtures before the World Cup kicks off and Enzo is here to give us his best bets.

Napoli v Udinese

Sat 12th Nov 14:00

Five draws in six games has seen Udinese’s top four charge grind to a shuddering halt. The goals that seemed to flow so effortlessly for the Zebrette during the early part of the campaign have also dried up and they have not scored more than one in their last five games.

For Napoli, it’s business as usual. An astonishing record of (W12 D2 L0) means the Partenopei sit comfortably at the top of the Serie A table with an eight point cushion between them and Milan.

The key to Napoli’s success has been their attack. With a scoring average of 2.43 goals per game it is no surprise that Spaletti’s team are the leagues topscorers. They face an Udinese side that, despite their mini drought, still possess one of the most talented forward lines in the league. Similarily to Sassuolo last year, the Zebrette seem to throw caution to the wind when playing the bigger sides. Their scorelines against the tops six read 4-2, 4-0, 2-2 and 3-1. I fancy another high-scoring clash here and Over 3.5 goals @ 11/8 is a price I am happy to take.

Sampdoria v Lecce

Sat 12th Nov 17:00

Sampdoria sit second from bottom with just 6 points from 14 games. Their only win came against newly promoted Cremonese back in October. Since then, the Blucerchiati have failed to pick up a single point in three attempts. Following Dejan Stankovic’s appointment as manager, there was a brief improvement in performances but it appears that the side has lapsed back into its old ways.

Lecce on the other hand have been enjoying a run of form which has seen them climb out of the relegation zone. A draw with Udinese and a victory over Atalanta in midweek has propelled the Southeners into 14th place with 12 points.

These kind of games are always tough to call but given Lecce’s form and Samdoria’s lack thereof I feel that the away side are worth a shot. Lecce win @ 21/10 is my second Italian football bet for the weekend.

Atalanta v Inter

Sun 13th Nov 11:30

Both these sides come into this fixture with mixed form. Inter (W5 D0 L3) lost the Derby d’Italia 2-0 which saw Juve leapfrog the Nerazzuri into fourth. Atalanta (W4 D1 L3) suffered a shock defeat to Lecce on Wednesday evening meaning they too slipped out of the Champions League spots. Because of their unpredictability, I am not going to try and pick a winner from these two. However, in four of Atalanta’s last six outings over 2.5 + BTTS was a winning selection. The same pick would have won the money in five of Inter’s previous eight. Hoping that it’s lucky again, Over 2.5 goals + BTTS @ 21/20 is my final Serie A selection.

Smart Bets

Napoli v Udinese: Over 3.5 goals @ 11/8

Sampdoria v Lecce: Lecce win @ 21/10

Atalanta v Inter: Over 2.5 goals + BTTS @ 21/20

His time as a Roma fan has led him to the “hard to support” end of betting and he is no stranger to tipping an unders bet or a draw. Don’t let that put you off. Week in week out Enzo finds value in Italy by avoiding the big names and ploughing his own furrow. To this day he remains the only man in Ireland to own a jersey with Philippe Mexès on the back.
