Each week we combine the best bets from our league specialists and create an acca across the EFL, Serie A, Ligue 1 and La Liga.
AC Ajaccio Vs Montpellier
Sun 12th 14:00 GMT
The theme for this weeks bets is the derisory form of the selections opponents. AC Ajaccio have managed 2 wins in their last 10 games but that’s it. They’ve managed to ship 23 goals in those 10 games whilst scoring an abysmal 5 times. Montpellier are in a decent vein of form having won 3 of their last 4 and only conceding once in the process. Michel Der Zakarian is a veteran of Ligue 1 and his influence is working wonders at La Paillade. His new side have been a boom or bust team for a few seasons. He as got them playing consistently whilst integrating the mercurial talents of Teji Savanier and Wahib Kharzi. After scoring 5 last week, an away win is the play here.
Juventus v Sampdoria
Sun 12th Mar 19:45
Ignoring the five that Napoli put past them, Juventus have been rock solid at the back. They rank as Serie A’s third best defence with just 20 goals conceded so far. An interesting stat is that all bar one of the Bianconeri’s 15 victories have come without their opponents finding the net. On Sunday, Juve welcome the team with the leagues worst scoring record to Turin. Bottom of the table Sampdoria average just 0.44 goals scored per game and look thoroughly devoid of any threat or hope of staying in the top flight. Another routine Juventus win to nil @ 20/21 is the only option here.
Athletic Club v Barcelona
Sun 12 Mar 20:00
Athletic’s season started with such promise as they won 5 of their opening 7 fixtures and everything was looking up for the Basque side. However, in the 17 games since they have managed just 4 victories (W4 D5 L8). They are currently as close on points to Almería (18th) as they are to Betis (5th) which should make their fans more than a little uncomfortable. The visitors required their eighth 1-0 win to see them past a hapless Valencia side last time out. It will not take much more to have the Blaugrana faithful dreaming of a 27th title. Since Barca put their hosts to the sword 4-0 in the reverse in October they have managed to score more than 2 goals just once, against a miserable Sevilla side. With their premier goalscorer, Lewandowski, all out of sorts this could be another low scoring affair.
