LB looks at the NCAAF Week Nine TNF fixtures and picks his best bets and upsets across all of College Football.
There is one midweek game that offers great betting value this week as The Utes travel to Martin Stadium, Pullman.
Utah @ Washington State
Utah are favored by a TD at Washington State on Thursday night and I expect them to cover with relative ease. The Utes come to this off a bye week and that should make all the difference. This would have looked like the perfect let-down spot if the game was last Saturday, hot on the heels of Utah’s late, come-back, shoot-out win over USC. However, with a weekend off and the extra days to refocus I expect a double-digit win. The Cougars are probably the best of the rest in the Pac-12 but they have an awful record against their big name, conference rivals.
Washington State have managed just four scores in their last two games, failing to score at all in five of those eight quarters. Utah’s offense on the other hand is purring, and they have scored in 15 of their last 16 quarters (against sterner competition too). Utah are probably not as good as many people expected coming into the season but there is a stark gulf in talent between these two rosters. I would not surprise me if this becomes a shootout, but Utah will be better on both sides of the ball and should come out on top.
Utah @ Washington State: Utah -7 2U
Utah @ Washington State: Utah -7 & Over 57 Points @ 2.65/1
